Pegasus

This wiki-page is created to gather information and combine our efforts to make the wiki-page Pegasus be the best page about pegasus there is on the entire Internet.

See the writing rules on Elftown Creature Marathon. Help correcting each others' texts, but if you want to do big changes, it's often better to copy the page to a suggestion-page, or ask first. If you create a new page like pegasus anatomy name it exactly like that, and not something like "Heddas peg ana". It will of course be replaced if someone comes up with a better page or adds to your page, but please don't kill them for it ;)

So if you have any kind of text, image, link or anything that can help, please add it here or make a comment about it! People who help out a lot will be considered part of the work and will get credited on the best pegasus-page on the Internet when we're done with it. And we'll also select the best one out of us (Except the judges [Hedda] and [xido] that can't win, but we'll help as much as we can and we'll vote).

And remember: It's not just you against the rest of the team. It's also Elftown against the world!

2006-11-28 [Hedda]: http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?action=info&ring=wbpegasus Do you know what that is? It seems pretty useless to me.

2006-11-28 [Hedda]: [Dark Side of the Moon]: No, you don't have to follow all uploading art rules. But the images have to follow copyright-laws, so unless you have permission to use the image, we can't use it.

And if it breaks uploading art rules, it can't of course be uploaded to your house, but direct to a wiki-page by someone with those privs.

But: It's very rare to find images that are free to use, so you can almost give up that search and only use your own images. Even if you do find images where it's written that you can use them, it's often just someone who have copied them who says that. Maybe there are advertising material that we can use though.

2006-11-28 [Skydancer]: You could perhaps find images from museums. Since this is an editorial rather than art wiki project, other than the original art contributions by the ET artists of course. The copy right rules are a little different for editorial usage as long as you provide proper attribution and it is for educational purposes.

2006-11-29 [xido]: "Hedda: http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?action=info&ring=wbpegasus Do you know what that is? It seems pretty useless to me."

This is true, but like I did with TriStar Pictures, which used a pegasus in their logo, it could be added to that page as web media, and corporate image/design usage including the creature. It is a viable bit of web to have on hand in certain conditions. *shrugs*

And anyone who remembers any movie beginning with the TriStar logo throughout those years remembers how cutting edge it was for its day. ;D

2006-12-06 [lyubomir]: http://www.moonmoth.demon.co.uk/pegasos_coins.html - Pegasus on ancien coins.

2006-12-11 [xido]: Wow, great link, and a wonderful tie-in from fantasy to reality! Nice work, [lyubomir]!
Added!

2006-12-11 [lyubomir]: thanks :)

2006-12-12 [Hedda]: I made an update of Pegasus like it might be going to look. (I just picked on of the submissions of the art as that competition isn't over yet.)

Please protest if you think it should look differntly <img:Untitled-1.gif>

2006-12-12 [Dark Side of the Moon]: I think it looks great [Hedda]!

2006-12-12 [Sunrose]: The only problem I see is that those links might become useless if they die :/

2006-12-12 [Hedda]: At least the Wikipedia-links should be pretty permanent. I think the others can be trusted to be there for a long time too. Otherwise they will be reported as broken and we'll fix ;)

2006-12-12 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Maybe I can check the links for it every four months or so and report any broken ones. <img:stuff/m-jpg.gif>

2006-12-12 [Sunrose]: My main concern though is for the information to be lost :(

2006-12-12 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Maybe what I could do is keep a reference wiki with these links on it and state after the link roughly what the web page contains. If the link breaks I could search for another to replace it. What do you think?

2006-12-12 [Artsieladie]: I don't know if any of this can be useful, but I did a write-up in my diary regarding the creation of Pegasus, if anyone would like to read it to see if it can be useful, go to: <diary:885974> I knew there was more to the Pegasus than just white. I think I'll be making a Pegasus as descibed in my write-up. :D

2006-12-20 [xido]: Hedda: "...But: It's very rare to find images that are free to use, so you can almost give up that search and only use your own images. I have an idea. This page is, in fact, an educational page, so Skydancer is correct in his definition of the actions of the page. I have recently prepared portions of the informational page on referencing works professionally on APA Formatting, after having to APA format every essay I've written for my online college courses (APA = American Psychological Association, who use this referencing method in a professional manner).

What is any cited work that is posted here becomes discretionarily negated if it cannot be properly cited. We now have more than our fair share of information to say that it is required, so it's an idea for keeping the page's integrity intact, and still providing open web information.

Let me know if you have any other ideas on this.

2006-12-12 Ir-Iddyn: "I think it looks great [Hedda]!"

I protest. I am also proactively taking the duty of formatting it. It will be done soon. I listed the people who I saw contribute, and it sounds like [Skydancer] was named by the contributors as he who wins the prize... (Am I wrong?) So, [Hedda], could that be your call to make, and I'll do my part working on the page format and the Creature_List renovations, as in compliance with [Angel Dreamer]'s wishes?

M'lady, it is a wonderful diary posting. If hedda agrees, I think you should post it to whichever portion of the pegasus pages you think it would fit. I will format around you. ;)

2006-12-20 [Artsieladie]: Actually, the diary entry has been improved upon & it's now all on: *Artsie's* Pegasus - The Great Winged One, including the links to my Pegasus images. (As you know...<img:stuff/cheshmak.gif>) I'll take another look & get back to you on it. :D

2006-12-30 [SilverFire]: I'm assumign since I can't find any info about it anywhere, that I can simply add the link to my introduction to the appropriate place on the page? Also... "It's just just you against the rest of the team' Is that supposed to be 'it's not just you', or 'it's just you'?

2006-12-30 [Sunrose]: 'it's not just you'
Fixed! :)
