Halloween Photography Competition

Greetings, and welcome to Elftown's official Halloween Photography Competition!

This contest is CLOSED!

Contest Moderator(s): [Nioniel] and [Sunrose]

Please read the [#RULES] and the [#THEME] before entering!

1. No stealing. Images must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist.

2. Old photos allowed. Old photographs are allowed in this contest, provided they have not already been submitted to another official Elftown Contest. If your photo has been submitted to an unofficial contest, then you are still free to enter it here.

3. Each member may submit two (2) entries.

4. All images must be uploaded to Elftown. To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wiki page.
Once you click this link you can follow the instructions. See also uploading images.

5. Subject matter: Images that depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. Only images that fit the [#theme] will be allowed.

6. Medium: The medium allowed is photography. Photomanipulation is not allowed.

7. Vote-mongering: Asking people to vote for you is not allowed. You may ask people to vote in the poll in general, but not specifically for you.

8. Queries: If you wish to discuss something about how the contest is run, or the rules, then please use the official contest forum: <forum:Elftown contests>! If you wish to bring up a query about whether a certain entry fits the theme, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid. Concerns about stolen work may be raised at any time.

Username (or number or email):

2009-11-18 [SilverFire]: You could have done that yourself, you know.

2009-11-18 [Alexi Ice]: ^^ I wasn't sure. Since the open sign at the bottom was highlighted which I've never noticed before.

2010-09-14 [Hedda]: It should be open! <img:stuff/cheshmak.gif>

New year, new contest!

But why is the deadline on the 31st? That makes no sense. I want to take pictures from my Halloween parties. Sweden's Halloween is on the 6th of November, by the way.

I'm a little unsure about 3 too. It's badly worded. Isn't it enough to take a photo with your username (or why not yourself?) in what is obviously the same photo session (is "photo session" the same as "photoshoot"? I don't think so, but I'm not sure) and same object?

2010-09-14 [Thunder Cid]: I may be able to clarify things.

I agree that the 31st is not an appropriate deadline. Do you think the 2nd would be better for photography?

I'll talk to [Chimes] about the wording.

2010-09-14 [All_Most PUNK]: No, it wouldn't be better, since still Sweden's Halloween (6th) would be left out. I guess it should be around the 10th.

2010-09-14 [SilverFire]: Yes photo session = photoshoot. I just deleted the last part of 3. I think it's pretty clear now.

The deadline for the costume contest is the 3rd, for the same kind of reason (people taking photos of their costume when they're actually wearing it at halloween). Which is when the costume deadline usually is (clearly hedda has never wanted to enter the costume contest before and thus this has not been a problem :P) We could shift the deadline for both back to the 7th/8th.
