Kurosaki Ichigo sat in his room, his back against the wall as he contemplated what to do with his free time. There hadn't been a hollow attack in a few days, and there was little else to worry about in town as of late. He thought about a quick patrol- one could never be too certain after all- but was in all honestly looking forward to the first relaxed afternoon he had had in a very
"Hi Ichigo. Your dad told me you'd be up here." Orihime said cheerfully.
Ichigo nearly fell over, "O-Orihime, what're you doing here?" He leapt to his feet to mask his clumsiness and the general startlement that Orihime had brought about.
"Tee hee.....um.....well you see......it's a funny story really.." Orihime began sweat dropping and rubbing the back of her head anime style.
Ichigo blinked, mildly confused, "Mind explaining then? I've got time..." He was amused as well, Orihime was definitely one of his more interesting friends.
Orihime tugged on the strands of hair next to her ear and thought back. "Well I lost my hair clips in my house, then I got lost on the way to the mall and ended up here. Then your dad practically shoved me up the stairs to your room. And now I'm here!" She replied brightly.
"That man..." Ichigo grumbled in irritation, "Are you going to buy new hair clips then?"
"No....I was kinda hoping you'd help me find them. See Tatsuki-chan's too busy to help and I don't wanna ask Chizuru-chan because she might try to molest me while we were alone and I wouldn't want to burden Ishida-san with the problem so you were the only logical one to come to...besides, Chad-san scares me." Orihime replied.
"Sado scares you?" Ichigo blinked, trying to imagine Chad being anything near frightening, he chuckled to himself and shook his head, "Fine, I'll go with you." He spoke decisively.
Orihime hugged him. "Yay!!! Thanks so much Ichigo!!" She cheered as she bounced down the steps to the front door.
Ichigo tugged on his shoes before following Orihime down the stairs. "I'm going out." He hollered, not really caring if his father heard him or not.
Orihime waited for him to walk out the door before tugging him in the direction of her house.
Ichigo sighed, but allowed himself to be dragged along behind her, he might as well actually get a chance to have some fun, the day had been a dull one up until then.
"So....um....what do you want to do after we hopefully find my hair clips?" Orihime asked.
"I don't know." Ichigo shrugged nonchalantly, "You?"
"Something fun. Like....the park or something." Orihime replied.
"Sounds good to me." Ichigo replied, it was definitely better than sitting at home in bed all day.
Orihime nodded and headed in the wrong direction to her house.
"Err... Orihime?" Ichigo questioned, coming up beside her.
"Yes Ichigo?" Orihime stopped and looked at him.
"Aren't we... supposed to be going that way?" He jerked his thumb in the opposite direction.
"Oh! You're right Ichigo!" Orihime said with an embarrassed laugh.
"Mmm, okay then, shall we head back that way?" Ichigo muttered.
"Right!" Orihime replied heading in the right direction this time.
Ichigo sighed and followed her, not sure if following was, indeed, the smart thing to do.
Orihime sweatdropped. "Could you take the lead?" She asked.
Ichigo chuckled, "Why don't we walk together? That way, neither of us is leading, but neither is following either?" He suggested.
"That's a good idea Ichigo!" Orihime replied.
Ichigo shrugged, "Well, looks like we're here then..." He replied, "Any chance you remember where you were last before you realized your clips were gone?"
"My room I think." Orihime replied.
"Uh... well, then, I guess we'll start there." Ichigo nodded.
"Ok." Orihime replied as she went up the stairs.
Ichigo followed a few steps behind her.
"Found them!" Orihime called as she passed the bathroom door.
Ichigo stopped and sweatdropped, "That was... fast."
"I forgot that I took a shower this morning." Orihime sweatdropped too.
"Well... uh, at least we didn't have to go looking for them after all." Ichigo replied, rubbing the back of his head in amusement.
Orihime blushed in embarrassment and hid her face in her hands. "I'm such an airhead. I'm surprised you're friends with me Ichigo." She mourned.
Ichigo ruffled her hair, "You're not an airhead, Orihime. And besides, if I didn't want to be friends with you... I never would have come, so cheer up."
Orihime smiled and hugged him. "Thanks." She laughed.
"Er... don't worry about it." Ichigo replied awkwardly.
Orihime blinked. "Does this embarrass you?" She asked.
"Nah... it's just... awkward." Ichigo replied, rubbing the back of his head.
"Heh heh. Sorry." Orihime stepped away.
"Don't worry about it, Orihime." Ichigo shrugged.
Orihime nodded. "Ok." She said.
