Welcome to Text Adventures! This page and its sub-pages contain a list of text-adventure
s for Elftowners, by Elftowners. But what are ‘text adventures’? They can best be described as co-operative stories, and are a form of role-playing. (See Role Playing for Dummies for more information on what exactly role-playing is.) Each ‘player’ in a text adventure creates a character that they will have control over, they will write what their character does, how the respond to things, etc. One player (usually known as a moderator, or GM – short for ‘Game Master’) will control the plot, and give the Text Adventure direction. Text Adventures can be a lot of fun, and most Elftowners are very friendly – so don’t be afraid to jump in!
If you have created a new Role-play, feel free to add a link here, just try to add it in the right place: add the RP to the bottom of the right section - so if you're adding a fantasy RP, add your RP to the bottom of the list of Fantasy RPs, and follow the formatting of the others.
If you have a text game that is based on an idea other than roleplaying, please add it to Games instead.

Upon the world of Kholash there is no magic in the sense we know, there is no elemental power in the way we expect. The four elements and winds of magic are replaced by the power of Epiphany and its lords. There are seven Lords of Epiphany. Two resided on the peninsular of Ghelt cut off from the rest of the world by the harsh Ylindre mountains. The other five left the peninsular and were never heard from again, these five have faded into mystery in Ghelt and only the two Lords remember them now. The original two were Elleek Vhorash who received epiphany on the path of Wisdom and Gharra Yheldy who received epiphany on the path of Subtlety. All paths lead to The One and all ephiphinites including the Lords themselves are different distances down their chosen paths.

Welcome to the Lighthouse. It is a dark place, shadows lurk in the corners. You see a staircase winding up and up, into the dark. You also see a door heading out into the other part of the lighthouse. You have heard tales of people living here. You decide on which route to take, and then you set off. You travel up the staircase, the boards creaking and groaning under your feet. They hold up, for they are strong. You pass by a small window that is heavily curtained, and you leave it be and continue up. As you step up to the last stair, you stop short. Standing, in front of you, is a teenaged boy of about 16 or 17. He has night-black hair and blazing blue eyes. He turns to look at you and smiles. He has a dazzling smile. He says something to you. You fall in love with his voice.
“Hello there.” He says, inching closer, slowly. You inhale. Your heart is racing. He smiles again, and you see the hinting of fangs. “Welcome to our house.” He stands right in front of you.
What will you do? Will you get bitten, or choose to maintain your mortality?

Rokugan is a world of water, where everything exists on top of the sea. It is a peaceful world, where the people live happily. However, there is a myth in this world that, beyond the reflection of the water, there exist a world, that is a mirror of their own. The people there are exactly like that of the Rokugan, but there is a twist; for the world is indeed a mirror of the world of Rokugan - everything in it is switched, and is like a reflection of Rokugan.
The Rokugan call this world Nagukor, which is Rokugan spelled backwards. Many Rokugans have tried to reach this world, but none of them have ever managed to. Until one girl, named Leryl Ornellia, snuck out one night on an impulse, wishing to look at the reflection of the moon in the water. However, when she did, she was sucked into the world of Nagukor.
In her efforts to return to the world in which she came from, she decided to travel the world of Nagukor to find a way home. She meets up with several companions, and journeys far and wide.
While the girl searches, she discovers a plot of the Nagukor to take over the world of Rokugan, for the world of Nagukor was becoming over populated, and poluted.
Can Leryl stop the impending war between the Nagukor and Rokugan? Or will both worlds end up destroying one another?

We are not only spies and assassins, but an entirely networked community that involves our Sister Abbey, the Abbey Comfort. Every day, we wear the guise of monks wholly devoted to the work and maintenance of our beloved Abbey. At night, we are a band called the Blind Color, seeking to overthrow the tyranny of the Lady Supreme. In the middle of the English countryside, nestled in the middle of forest covered hills, almost completely surrounded by a clear, running river and accessible only by a single, winding road is Bethlem - an institute for the mentally deranged. In the lower levels of the asylum, that descend deep within the earth; something has awoken. A shadow hangs over Bethlem, and the creature in it's bowels is festering and feeding. Welcome to Bethlem, prison of the forgotten. Your neighbour is insane, nothing better can be said of yourself. And you may find that your stay will be very short, for in the depths the creature stirs.

You enter a smoke-filled bar, on a mission to find a person. Him. The King-Pin. You have a score to settle, and need a mob to help you...
As you approach the king-pin you can’t help but notice the icy grey eyes watching your every movement, you feel a tingle run up your spin. The king-pin’s skin is chalky white, his features sharp and pointed. He smiles at you, though the smile is neither kind nor warm. He gestures for you to sit down in front of him, his two guards Vic and Lance still at your side. You notice two people beside him, to his right is a pretty and young brown haired beauty
who is smiling your way in a rather odd manner. To his left is a thin man whose solemn face is adorned with black glasses, a baggy suit hanging on his lanky body. They are both staring directly at you, as if judging you. You turn to look back at the King-pin, you watch as he traces a long finger delicately across the rim of his drink.
“Tell me”. His voice is direct and sharp. “What can I do for you”?
His smile widens, as if he already knows your every desire.
What will you do? Be a King pin? Follow orders?

Guilds are large groups of RPers who join together for the sake of having a large pool of players and RPs set up which they know will be of a high standard. If you just can't get enough of RPing, then you might want to try joining one.
