Description:
Well hello! (This happens to be my favorite greeting amongst many.) I am called Adriane. I'm a student at Western Michigan University, currently 19, and I've been a faithful member (obsessed fanatic, rather) of Elftown since I was 12-ish (possibly 13, I can't remember).
I first joined the site because of my interests in pretty much anything fantasy related. Having been through the terrors of high school and the beginning of college, my interests in the fantasy realms have waned slightly, but there are still some worlds to which I remain devoutly faithful, and I therefore feel that I still have somewhat of a place here.
First and foremost of these worlds is the universe created by J. K. Rowling. My mind is so deeply immersed in the Potterverse that I sometimes feel I am in need of a psychiatrist. I love Harry Potter. I am a collector and have at least two versions of all the books (three and four in some cases). I have recently begun collecting the cards (not to play with... just to look at), and I pick up anything small and cheap off which Warner Brothers feels like making money.
Although nothing will compare to the love I have of Harry Potter, the second largest fantasy obsession I am currently passing through is with World of Warcraft. I'm relatively new to the game, but I enjoy it and am having fun developing my Druid and Warlock, Stjernernes and Flydende, respectively.
I have passing interests in anything pretty. I love the original Star Wars trilogy (consisting of Episodes IV-VI, in order to clarify), but I did not enjoy any of the newer movies. I recently saw the new Star Trek movie in Imax and I must admit, although I was never interested in Star Trek, the movie was phenomenal. I love the Witch Mountain movies, the older ones especially, and I have seen the newest installment twice (both times for $3!).
Other fantasy things I enjoy:
Eternal Sonata, possibly my favorite non-puzzle video game I've ever experienced
Earthsea Cycle
Myst (the books, I have yet to play the games)
I have recently begun reading for entertainment again. This summer I have read Elegance of the Hedgehog and am working on Anna Karenina.
It is time for dinner now, but I'll be back to make my house more attractive. If there is anything else you would like to know about me, please let me know. =)
